The Essex Tech 50 (ET50) initiative was launched in January 2024 to provide recognition to our thriving digital technology sector. The list celebrates innovation, growth, and local impact.

Throughout the course of each year we engage with hundreds of businesses to understand what they are doing in their space and attempt to subjectively choose 50 businesses each year to act as representatives of Essex excellence. The final 50 are chosen on the following metrics:

• turnover
• funding and investment secured 
• approach to skills and employment 
• local and global reach 
• growth potential
• innovations
