Ionic Digital is a multi-award-winning micro-agency helping small businesses grow their digital footprint. With over 20 years of experience delivering digital solutions, we specialise in providing a flexible, expert, and above all, personal service to our clients. We work with small to medium-sized businesses on website design, digital marketing strategies, and bespoke design solutions — offering clear, helpful advice without befuddling you with ‘techno-babble’.
2025 has been a fantastic growth year for Ionic — we’ve partnered with a number of brands that are looking to excel. It’s not just websites and marketing though; we’ve helped businesses transform their entire approach to digital. From document signing systems and financial dashboards that pull data from various sources to compare against key metrics, to launching a global data collection portal for employee benchmarking — utilising some really exciting functionality and AI integrations.
More of what we’ve already been doing! We’re excited to be expanding our Lunchinars sessions, working alongside CAVS (Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services), as well as pursuing our own growth plans to increase staff numbers and offer a range of new services. It’s important to keep innovating, and we’ve been exploring ways to embrace the digital revolution of AI and the possibilities it brings.
Essex is a great place for business. Being a stone’s throw (and a 40-minute journey) from London means we can offer London-quality solutions at non-London prices. We love working with local businesses, but we equally enjoy working with global clients too — we’ve welcomed customers from America, New Zealand and Spain.
I love Launchpad — it’s not only a great workspace, but a brilliant community of like-minded, business-driven people. It can be a lonely world as a solopreneur, but it’s wonderful to collaborate with others and share the successes (and sometimes the woes). Being part of a community that’s available to offer advice and guidance makes a real difference.
In partnership with CAVS and SAVS, we run a series of online workshops to help upskill local non-profit and charitable organisations on how they can enhance their digital presence. Sessions cover digital marketing 101, getting your organisation online with a website, using social media effectively, search engine optimisation (SEO) and Google Ads, and email marketing. These are delivered as “Lunchinars” — bite-sized learning sessions designed to be accessible and practical. Each session is available live and via playback, with cheat sheets and helpful guides you can download and use again and again.

The first step is to stop and think before you act. Too many businesses jump straight into setting up social media accounts or paying for ads without understanding who they’re trying to reach or what they want to achieve. Start by asking yourself: who are my ideal customers, where do they spend time online, and what problem am I solving for them? Once you’re clear on that, everything else becomes much easier to prioritise.
Then, get your website right. It’s the one piece of ‘digital real estate’ you actually own and control. Social media platforms change their rules constantly, but your website is your shop window 24/7. Make sure it clearly explains what you do, who you help, and how people can get in touch. You’d be surprised how many businesses overlook the basics — if visitors can’t find your phone number or understand what you offer within seconds, you’ve already lost them.
