Generally, yes. We are a driven county and keen to help each other.

As a start up from out of the home, what were the initial challenges you faced when setting up Thumb Soldiers?

Limited social engagement.

You tackle a very niche corner of gaming, what led to you creating Thumb Soldiers?

We would argue that we target a huge market of gaming. Most gamers use or have the use of a controller, and they all use the same generic thumb grips. Thumb Soldiers is a system that allows you to customise your thumb grips to the games you are playing or the inputs you desire, at the exact point you interact with your games. This is what led to creating Thumb Soldiers, wanting and observing the need for custom thumb grips designed for the games being played.

What more can Essex County Council do to help smaller businesses grow?

I’m sure it won’t be a surprise to hear, but grants. We have a trajectory of scaling huge, internationally, as quickly as we can, but need the funds to get us there. We have every intention of keeping Thumb Soldiers an Essex based business, and believe we can.
