Essex Build Expo returns for 2026

The hugely successful Essex Build Expo event will return for 2026, it has been confirmed.

Hosted by Essex Construction Alliance and the Essex Growth Agency, the event will take place at Hylands House, Chelmsford, on Friday 6 March.

It follows on from the inaugural Essex Build Expo last year. The event is designed as a gateway to new networks, partnerships and growth opportunities for local businesses in the sector.

Last year’s event brought together over 425 attendees, 53 exhibitors and delivered presentations from over 25 industry professionals.

2026’s event, which will feature a dedicated Women in Construction zone, promises attendees even more opportunities to connect, learn and grow.

Highlights will include:

  • Meet the Buyer sessions – connect directly with organisations delivering major projects
  • Free workshops and seminars on procurement, safety, sustainability and winning work in Essex
  • Network with industry leaders and decision-makers from across Essex
  • An extensive exhibition showcasing leading suppliers, contractors and innovators

Essex’s construction sector contributes around £5.6 billion annually to the UK economy and employs around 65,000 people.

Major projects like the Lower Thames Crossing will create thousands of jobs and supply chain opportunities. Essex is also a leading region implementing the Garden Communities concept for housebuilding.

Councillor Louise McKinlay, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Communities, Transformation and Economic Growth, said: “Essex Build is about more than celebrating the success of the building industry – it’s about unlocking opportunities for local businesses in the sector, creating more jobs and driving growth across Essex.

“With projects like the Lower Thames Crossing and several Garden Community developments on the horizon, this event is a must-attend for businesses in construction looking to play a part in shaping Essex’s future.”
